After nearly two months of flawless performances in the Premier League, Liverpool will once again hope they win and Manchester City drop points on the final matchday.
Jürgen Klopp’s side completed a scintillating comeback against Barcelona in the Champions League earlier in the week, and have a bit of momentum going into the final matchday, but a solid Wolves side stand in their way.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have a good record against the top six sides, and are in a great run of form having won their last three games in the league.
Wolves have already secure seventh spot in the league, and have exceeded expectations in their first season after returning to the top flight.
Liverpool will have to be on their toes as it’s not going to be an easy game after the emotions of Tuesday night and potentially finishing second with a record 97 points.
Mohamed Salah wasn’t medically cleared to face Barcelona, but should return against Wolves. Jordan Henderson and Andy Robertson picked up knocks but the duo should be available for the clash on Sunday as well.
Roberto Firmino is still not available, so we might see Divock Origi continuing up front after his impressive brace against Barcelona.
Defence
Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip should continue at the heart of the defence, while Robertson and Joe Gomez might feature as the full-backs.
Trent Alexander-Arnold put in a good shift against Barcelona, and might get a breather. Alisson should line up in goal as usual.
Midfield
James Milner might accompany Fabinho and Gini Wijnaldum in the three-man midfield. Henderson put in a tireless shift against Barcelona and will be leggy, so giving him a breather might be the best way forward.
Wijnaldum scored twice after coming on in the last game, and he will be buzzing when he takes to the pitch. Expect the Dutchman to maraud forward once again.
Attack
Salah should start on the right flank on his return, and Sadio Mane should keep his place on the left. The Senegalese will be up against Matt Doherty, who has been one of the most consistent wing-backs in the league this season.
Origi’s confidence will be high, but he will come up against a mean Wolves defence. Daniel Sturridge might also get a few minutes off the bench as it might be his last game at Anfield.
