Chelsea will look to make it two wins in as many Premier League games when they take on Brighton on Wednesday.
The Blues were perhaps fortuitous to pick up a win against Cardiff City in their last game as they were on the right end of a bad refereeing decision, and will hope to put in a more assertive display against Brighton.
Brighton have been dragged into the relegation fight after a poor run of results as the Seagulls are just five points clear of the relegation zone.
The race for the top four is pretty intense, and Chelsea will hope to pick up a routine win against Brighton at home.
Chelsea team news
Maurizio Sarri was criticised by fans and pundits for resting the duo of Eden Hazard and N’Golo Kante against Cardiff on Sunday.
The two should be back to face Brighton, and Sarri has also revealed that Callum Hudson-Odoi is in line to make an appearance in the coming games. Whether or not he will start against Brighton still remains to be seen.
The Chelsea defence looked shaky against Cardiff, and we might get to see Andreas Christensen get a chance as well. Emerson too is in line to get an appearance.
Predicted Chelsea lineup vs Brighton
Defence
Kepa should keep his place in goal, and the duo of Christensen and David Luiz might feature in front of the custodian. Emerson and Cesar Azpilicueta might get the nod in the full-back areas.
Midfield
Ruben Loftus-Cheek scored the late winner against Cardiff City, and he deserves to start in the Chelsea midfield.
It’s unlikely that we’ll see Sarri drop Jorginho, so the Italian should line up alongside N’Golo Kante. Loftus-Cheek might get a slightly attacking role in the team with Kante and Jorginho playing deep.
Attack
Gonzalo Higuain had another lacklustre game during the weekend, and it would be surprising if the Argentine starts up top against Brighton.
Olivier Giroud deserves a chance up top, and he might be supported by Hazard and Hudson-Odoi on the wings.
Willian and Pedro didn’t have the best of games against Cardiff, and are likely to drop to the bench.
