Wolves suffered a shock 1-0 defeat away at the Kirklees Stadium against Huddersfield Town earlier this week, and will look to bounce back against Cardiff City.
On Saturday, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side will return to home comfort when they host another one of the bottom three sides in Cardiff.
Wolves are seventh in the league table, having collected 40 points from 28 league games, and are well on course to make it to the Europa League next season.
Wolves Team News
Espirito Santo has a clean bill of health with no players set to miss out this weekend due to injuries or suspensions.
Predicted Wolves Lineup vs Cardiff City
Defence
Rui Patricio will miss out after Espirito Santo confirmed in his press conference that John Ruddy will get the chance to feature in goal to get some playing time to prepare him for the big FA Cup quarterfinal against Manchester United.
Willy Boly, Conor Coady and Ryan Bennett have done nothing wrong to lose their spot in the starting XI. The defensive trio are expected to start once again in front of Ruddy to keep the Cardiff City attackers at bay.
Boly, in particular, has been thoroughly resilient at the back this season. After 26 league appearances, the 28-year-old averages 2.4 tackles, 2 interceptions, and 4.5 clearances per game.
Wing-Backs
Espirito Santo might use Ruben Vinagre instead of Jonny Castro as the left wing-back against Warnock’s side. Meanwhile, Matt Doherty might play on the right once again.
Midfield
Joao Moutinho and Leander Dendoncker might feature in central midfield once again, and Ruben Neves should feature as the deepest midfielder once again.
Moutinho has the calibre to open up the opposition defence with his clever passes and vision. In 28 league appearances so far this term, he has mustered 7 assists, and has managed a pass completion rate of 84.6%.
Attack
Helder Costa might come into the starting lineup this time around to spearhead his side. Alongside him, we expect Espirito Santo to stick with Raul Jimenez. The Mexican has scored 10 and has provided five assists, and has been a key player for the side.
