Higuain Leads The Line: 4-3-3 Strongest Possible Chelsea Lineup

Chelsea have recently not been in the best of situations in the Premier League with their manager Maurizio Sarri struggling to get the best out of the players on the pitch. Their defeat against Bournemouth by a margin of 4-0 was evidence enough for that.

However, the introduction of the Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain seems to have rejuvenated the team. The former Real Madrid man expectedly did take a week to settle but his understanding with Eden Hazard was evident during the massive 5-0 win over Huddersfield Town.

The on-loan Juventus striker scored a brace in what was only his second appearance in the Premier League.

The former Napoli striker’s familiarity with the current Chelsea boss bodes well and it is expected that their reunion will work out well for the Blues. The west London club also got a brilliant player in the form of Christian Pulisic in the January transfer window but he will join the team next season after being loaned back to Borussia Dortmund.

With the top 4 race heating up, let us take a look at how Chelsea can lineup henceforth with their strongest XI.

Formation: 4-3-3

Goalkeeper

Kepa Arrizabalaga has looked in decent touch this season so far and will start in the goal for the Pensioners.

Defence

David Luiz and Antonio Rudiger will start at the heart of the backline. Andreas Christensen has made the odd appearance recently but we feel when in form, Luiz and Antonio are way ahead at the moment. Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta haven’t hit their usual high standards this season but are better choices ahead of Zappacosta and Emerson.

Midfield

Though Sarri’s tactics of playing Jorginho as the defensive midfielder and more importantly, using N’Golo Kante out of position has backfired in the last few outings for the Blues, he is not expected to change it anytime soon.

Jorginho is still expected to start as the deep-lying midfielder while N’Golo Kante will have to line up in right midfield with Ross Barkley on the opposite side looking a better bet than Mateo Kovacic at the moment.

Attack

Willian will start on the right as the wide attacker while Eden Hazard will start in the same role on the left-hand side. Gonzalo Higuain will lead the line for the Blues.

His partnership up front with Hazard decimated the Huddersfield backline and the fans will hope this partnership propels the Blues in the table with Arsenal and Manchester United breathing down their necks.

Predicted Formation: 4-3-3
