Pep Guardiola Makes Shocking Admission About Chelsea

Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola made a huge admission in his press conference today regarding league rivals Chelsea. The Catalan made it clear that Chelsea were still in the title race referencing the happenings over the past few weeks to stress on the fact that the race for the title is not between just Manchester City and Liverpool.

With 39 points still to play for and none of the teams looking invincible at this point, he has suggested that a gap of 10 to 12 points is not insurmountable at all. When asked why Tottenham Hotspur are not been considered as a title contender he replied,

“It is a question for yourself! I never say Tottenham was not there, or Chelsea,”

“United is making this run of victories every single week. If Chelsea are able to do games in a row, they are a contender to win the Premier League.

“There are 39 points to play for, it is not too much. Everybody is ready to take points.”

CHELSEA PREMIER LEAGUE CONTENDERS

Coming to Chelsea, the Blues have stuttered after a positive start, but with the addition of Gonzalo Higuain, things are expected to look up for them again. At least that’s what the 5-0 thrashing of Huddersfield Town suggested with Eden Hazard linking up with the Argentine effortlessly.

Liverpool and City will drop points while Spurs will find it hard to sustain the run they are on now which leaves Chelsea are a dark-horse in the title race.

But it is crucial that they don’t get swayed by the hoopla and focus on the task at hand. Securing a top 4 place will still be the priority and for that, Sarri needs his main man Jorginho to regain his form. The Italian has been lacklustre in recent weeks and with the rest of the team also not performing at the desired level; his shortcomings were exposed even further.

Hence, Hazard’s and Higuain’s contribution will be crucial now as Chelsea enter the most critical phase of the season.
