New Signing Features: Strongest Possible Bournemouth Lineup After The Transfer Window

Bournemouth have done well under Eddie Howe this season, and were one of the most active clubs in the January transfer window.

The Cherries did some shrewd business and added more depth to the attack as well as the defence..

They signed Dominic Solanke from Liverpool for a transfer fee of £19million to bring some competition for Callum Wilson and Joshua King.

While Chris Mepham from Brentford was another permanent signing, they also secured the services of Nathaniel Clyne from Liverpool.

Here is the strongest possible Bournemouth lineup with some of their new signings.

Strongest Bournemouth Lineup (4-4-1-1)

Defence

Howe has relied on Asmir Begovic, and the Bosnian has done well for the Cherries so far this season. He should play ahead of Artur Boruc.

Nathan Ake and Steve Cook have forged a formidable partnership in the central defence, and deserve their respective place in the starting lineup.

Meanwhile, Clyne has already made his presence felt after his move to the Vitality Stadium, and should keep his place on the right.

Adam Smith has been a good option at left-back, having mustered 1.6 tackles and 2.4 clearances per game on an average this season.

Midfield

Howe has preferred a four-man midfield on most occasions this season, with Jefferson Lerma and Dan Gosling as his first-choice central midfielders.

Lerma has not only cushioned the backline well, but has also dictated the tempo of the play in some of the games. In fairness, Bournemouth have appeared a lot stronger with him on the pitch.

Ryan Fraser and Junior Stanislas deserve to have their place in the wide areas. The two are really industrious players with decent experience under their belt.

Attack

Solanke’s move has arrived with a bit of hype, but it would be surprising if the former Liverpool man starts over Callum Wilson when the latter is back fit once again.

King is a good option as the secondary striker. The former Manchester United man has scored eight goals and has registered three assists in 22 league appearances so far this campaign and has been a key player in the attacking third for the Cherries.
