Tottenham Hotspur had to rely on a late 83rd-minute winner by Heung-min Son to pick up the three points against Newcastle United earlier today.
It was an important win for the north London club as they have now closed the gap on league leaders Liverpool to four points and have jumped up to second in the league table.
Here are the Tottenham Hotspur player ratings.
Hugo Lloris: 7
Did well to keep his goal safe with a few good saves in the match. Pulled off a brilliant one-handed save to deny Ayoze Perez in the second half.
Kieran Trippier: 7
Kept delivering delightful crosses in the opposition box from the right-hand side.
Toby Alderweireld: 6
Took the challenge of keeping Salomon Rondon under check with his physical presence. Looked a bit wrong-footed on occasions in the second half, though.
Davinson Sanchez: 7
A decent display at the backline from the Colombian. Was good with his front-footed defending today.
Jan Vertonghen: 7
Played well in the role of a left-back. Did well to keep Ayoze Perez under check for a majority of the game.
Harry Winks: 7
A gritty display in the midfield from the Englishman as he won a number of battles against Longstaff and Hayden.
Moussa Sissoko: 6
Looked a bit subdued in the first half, but kept his composure well in the second against the opposition midfielders.
Erik Lamela: 6
Deceived the opposition defenders with his witty footwork in the first half. Should have scored from close range in the first half.
Christian Eriksen: 8
Kept getting the ball in the danger areas and linked up well with the forwards. Was unfortunate not to score in the second half as Fabian Schar cleared his effort acrobatically off the line.
Heung-Min Son: 8
The South Korean international carried his sublime form into the match and kept finding space to take shots. Finally got the reward for his diligent display in the 83rd minute.
Lucas Moura: 6
His witty runs in the box created problems for the defenders, but that sitter in the first half won’t be forgotten for a while.
Substitutes
