Leicester City have blown hot and cold this season, and in all fairness, they haven’t been able to perform to the best of the potential considering the talent they have at their disposal.
The Foxes have been shambolic lately and are currently undergoing a dismal run of form in the Premier League, having lost four of their last five league games.
They are placed 12th in the standings after having collected 32 points from 26 games so far, and manager Claude Puel is under a lot of pressure at the moment.
To challenge for a Champions League or Europa League spot and domestic silverware next season, Puel’s side has to make some shrewd additions in the summer.
Apart from luring some proven players to the King Power Stadium, Puel must also look to get hold of young players who have the potential and calibre to make it big.
A report on Leicester Mercury has claimed that Leicester City are keeping close tabs on Hajduk Split’s blossoming left-back Domagoj Bradaric.
Bradaric was scouted by Leicester City’s during his side’s match against Rijeka in what is known as the Adriatic derby. During the game which took place at Stadion HNK Rijeka, the 19-year-old was unfortunately replaced after fifty-five minutes following an injury.
He has been in good form this season, having mustered a couple of assists in 10 league outings and has shown great composure at left-back.
Apart from Leicester City, representatives of several big clubs like Liverpool, Everton, Borussia Dortmund, Napoli and Lille were also among the spectators taking notes on him.
Puel’s camp is accustomed to the Croatian market, having made the likes of Filip Benkovic and Andrej Kramaric sign on the dotted line in recent years.
Bradaric is one of the highly rated stars in Croatia and has paved his way to the senior side of Hajduk Split this season and is already the vice-captain of the team at the ripe age of 19.
Reportedly, Lille and Ajax had tried to prise him away in the January transfer window but his exit from Stadion Poljud failed to materialize.
Puel has Ben Chilwell and Christian Fuchs on his books to cater to the left-back needs. But Fuchs is set to be out of contract at the end of the season, and there seems to be no apparent effort to extend his stay which leaves the in-demand Chilwell as the only option for the Foxes.
The Sun has claimed that Manchester City are set to go all in to bring Ben Chilwell to the Etihad Stadium next season which further accentuates the need of a left-sided fullback. But even if Leicester manage to hold on to the services of Ben, someone like Bradaric will still be a welcome addition.
He can provide much-needed depth and competition for the spot and will also prove to be a long-term investment given his age and talent.
