Manchester City advanced to the fifth round of the FA Cup by securing a comfortable 5-0 victory against Burnley.
The Sky Blues dominated proceedings and kept their 100% record in January intact.
Here are the Man City players rated in their huge win over the Clarets.
Ederson (8/10): Barely had anything to do the entire game aside from narrowing the angle for Matej Vydra after Nicolas Otamendi’s poor control freed the Burnley attacker behind the Manchester City defence. His distribution was top notch, as always.
Kyle Walker (6.5/10): His tackling and positioning were questionable as the English international struggled, at times, to dominate the flanks. Not the best performance from the former Tottenham star.
John Stones (7.5/10): With Burnley struggling to make any inroads into the Manchester City half, Stones barely had to do anything aside from making a few clearances. His excellent distribution eased City’s build-up play from the back.
Nicolas Otamendi (6.5/10): Failed to get a grip on the game, notably making a huge defensive error to allow Vydra 1v1 with the ‘keeper. He definitely needs to improve if he is to regain a regular spot in the starting lineup.
Danilo (8/10): By far the most effective Manchester City defender this evening, Danilo was a source of both creativity as well as the defensive support on the left flank. Produced an excellent through ball to set up Gabriel Jesus in the first half.
Kevin de Bruyne (9.5/10): The fact that de Bruyne is slowly returning to his peak form is rather evident as the Belgian was absolutely brilliant this evening. He was all over the Burnley defence, finding a host of teammates in dangerous areas of the pitch and was involved in as many as three goals.
Fernandinho (8/10): While the City attackers tormented the Burnley defence in the game it was Fernandinho who kept the midfield ticking and provided the security for the backline. He also initiated a lot of attacks recovering the ball, and by picking the forward passes.
Ilkay Gundogan (7.5/10): Complemented the effort of De Bruyne in the final third, offering necessary support to the Belgian as well as the other teammates. A solid performance from the German international.
Bernardo Silva (7.5/10): Struggled to make any notable impact from the right-wing slot. However, he was deeply involved in City’s attacking play, but nothing too spectacular.
Gabriel Jesus (8/10): An excellent finish to score the all-important opener in the 23rd minute and despite failing to find the back of the net afterwards, he looked committed and worked hard for his team.
Riyad Mahrez (7.5/10): Much like Bernardo Silva, Mahrez was not involved in anything spectacular aside from linking up with teammates in the final third. Some clever wing-play was enough to bamboozle the Burnley defenders, however.
Substitutes
David Silva (8/10): Replaced Fernandinho just after the hour-mark and didn’t take long to make an impact as the Spaniard won the penalty that led to Sergio Aguero’s goal.
Sergio Aguero (7/10): Showed excellent composure to successfully convert the penalty and add more gloss to the scoreline.
Phil Foden (NA): Came on for Kevin De Bruyne but had very little time to make any notable impact.
