Terrific Trio With Keita As No. 10: Predicted Liverpool Lineup vs Napoli

It’s all or nothing for Liverpool when they take on Napoli in the final group game of the Champions League on Tuesday.

The Reds need to win by two goals to ensure qualification if PSG win their game against Red Star Belgrade, and will rely on home support to get the job done.

Anfield has witnessed some inspiring European nights and Liverpool will have to be at their best to beat a strong Napoli side.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have picked up all their points at home and the fans will hope that run continues come Tuesday.

Liverpool team news

The positive news is that Sadio Mane is ready to start for Liverpool after missing the game against Burnley and appearing as a substitute against Bournemouth.

Dejan Lovren will be assessed ahead of the game, but it’s unlikely he’ll start considering Joel Matip did a good job against Bournemouth on Saturday.

Predicted Liverpool lineup

Defence

Joe Gomez, who recently signed a new contract with Liverpool, will be a huge miss but there’s no point talking about injured players any more as the Reds need to focus on winning games with what they have. And quality is what they have.

Joe Matip has the best opportunity to make a statement and he should start alongside Virgil van Dijk. Andy Robertson should keep his place at left-back while Trent Alexander-Arnold is expected to return to the starting lineup after getting a breather against Bournemouth. Alisson will keep his place in goal.

Midfield

Klopp went with Fabinho and Gini Wijnaldum in the midfield pivot and fans certainly want to see more of the two work in tandem, with Naby Keita playing in a slightly advanced role.

Keita’s injury trouble after a solid start to the season began in the previous fixture against Napoli away from home and he’ll be keen to leave a mark on Tuesday.

Attack

With Keita starting in a number 10 role, we expect the duo of Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah to start on the wings. Roberto Firmino will start up top.

It seems like Salah is getting back the form that saw him break the Premier League goal-scoring record last season and the fans will hope the Egyptian shows a bit of that form against Napoli.
