Duo set to return: Predicted 4-3-3 Liverpool Lineup vs Everton

After their midweek Champions League defeat against PSG, Liverpool will look to bounce back when they take on Everton in the Merseyside derby on Sunday.

The Reds have a good head to head record against their neighbours but this is arguably the strongest Everton have been in recent seasons, so it could be a hotly contested derby at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp’s side were beaten 2-1 by PSG which was their third defeat in the group stage but their Premier League form has been impressive.

Liverpool are yet to lose a game in the league and are right behind Manchester City in the league table with two points separating the top two sides.

The Reds haven’t lost to Everton at Anfield since 1999 and would want to keep it that way.

Liverpool team news

Klopp will be without the services of club captain Jordan Henderson who picked up a red card against Watford and is suspended for the derby. Adam Lallana remains a doubt for the clash.

Fabinho didn’t start against PSG and is expected to return to the starting lineup in Henderson’s absence. The same can be said about Trent Alexander-Arnold who could return to the starting lineup in the right-back role.

Predicted Liverpool Lineup

Defence

Alisson had a brilliant game against PSG in the Champions League and should keep his place in goal. Joe Gomez started in the right-back role but is expected to start alongside Virgil van Dijk come Sunday.

Andy Robertson will play on the left flank and will to deal with the threat of Seamus Coleman on his side. Alexander-Arnold will play as the right-back as mentioned before.

Midfield

Fabinho’s name was all over the social media as Henderson was preferred over the Brazilian in the deeper midfield role against PSG. The former Monaco man has done well in recent weeks and perhaps deserves a sustained run in the team at the expense of the skipper.

Klopp could go with James Milner and Gini Wijnaldum alongside Fabinho as Everton do have good quality on midfield. That means Xherdan Shaqiri could miss out.

Attack

Roberto Firmino’s work ethic will be critical against Everton. The Brazilian will lead the attack with Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah supporting him in the wide areas.
