Bayern Munich eye a swoop for Chelsea forward as Sarri has a real decision to make

According to The Sun, Bayern Munich are preparing a shock move for Callum Hudson-Odoi in the upcoming January transfer window.

The Chelsea whizkid has attracted the interest from the Bavarians following a series of impressive performances for the reserve side.

Although Hudson-Odoi has failed to break into the Chelsea first-team, will it be a wise decision for the Blues to let him leave?

Callum Hudson-Odoi: Player profile

Hudson-Odoi is a dynamic winger who is blessed with raw pace. While his pace helps him provide a great deal of threat on the counter attacks, it is his quick-feet which allow him to wriggle his way through even in spaces.

Much like Bayern Munich starlet Kingsley Coman, Hudson-Odoi loves to take on defenders and always backs his abilities even against a rigid defensive line.

While Coman often lacks the desired end-product in his deliveries, Odoi often excels in terms of his offensive productivity as he scored six goals in ten matches for the Chelsea Under-23 side last season.

In addition, the forward also scored eight goals in six matches in the FA Youth Cup, which made him one of the most prolific young players in England.

What sets Hudson-Odoi apart is his immaculate control over the ball as well as his exceptional dribbling qualities, meaning he can provide the necessary attacking flair for Bayern.

Sarri has a tough decision to make on Hudson-Odoi

As mentioned earlier, Hudson-Odoi hasn’t been able to crack the Chelsea first-team yet, having played in only 35 minutes of football in all competitions.

That being said, the18-year-old is undoubtedly one of the most talented attackers across Europe, who is more than capable of turning into a world class individual – provided he’s nurtured well.

In fact, Chelsea have already struggled with their lack of depth in the attacking department especially with Pedro entering the final phase of his career while both Eden Hazard and Willian have been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge. Thus, keeping hold of Hudson-Odoi could be a logical decision given the current spectrum.

As for the player himself, a move to Bayern will further restrict his play-time due to the presence of some of the Europe’s most talented attackers, including Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery.

Although Robben and Ribery have shown significant signs of deterioration in recent seasons, both of them still acquire enough quality to keep him out of the starting eleven. Therefore, it would be wise for Hudson-Odoi to stay put at Chelsea for now.
