Leeds United will return to action in the Championship and take on Bristol City after the international break on Saturday.
The Whites suffered a shock 4-1 defeat against West Brom away from home prior to the international break and the result pushed them down to third in the Championship table.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side will look to bounce back against Bristol and the game will be the first of three games the Yorkshire based outfit will play in seven days.
The Leeds United head coach does have a few injury worries ahead of the game.
Leeds United Team News
Injuries haven’t been kind to Leeds this season and every time Bielsa has a press conference, he is inevitably asked about who is injured and for how long. This time it’s the duo of Bailey-Peacock Farrell and Pontus Jansson.
The problem Bielsa has is Jamal Blackman, who was the Leeds number two in goal little less than a week ago, fractured his tibia and has returned to his parent club Chelsea. Peacock-Farrell has a knock on his knee, which means Kamil Miazek could be handed a chance in goal.
Jansson’s absence will be a bigger blow in fairness as the Swede has been a commanding figure at the back.
Predicted Leeds United Lineup
Miazek could get his chance in goal and he will hope to impress and nail down a regular number two spot before the Whites decide to show for a ‘keeper in January. In Jansson’s absence, we could see a back three comprising of Barry Douglas, Liam Cooper and Kalvin Phillips.
Mateusz Klich and Adam Forshaw are likely to play in midfield. The latter will have to play in a deeper role to protect the defence while the former will play in a box to box role.
Ezgjan Alioski and Samu Saiz could play the wider roles in the midfield but their work-rate will have to good considering it’s a three at the back setup.
Kemar Roofe will play up top and we could see Tyler Roberts and Pablo Hernandez playing alongside him in the attack.
Roberts – Roofe – Hernandez
Alioski – Forshaw – Klich – Saiz
Douglas – Cooper – Phillips
