West Bromwich Albion managed to bag a point from their thrilling clash against Sheffield Wednesday earlier this week. The Owls had a two-goal advantage, but Darren Moore’s side mounted a comeback to come away with a point.
West Brom next take on Reading at home and will start as favourites considering the form of the two teams. Reading have managed just one win in their last four games and are at the wrong end of the Championship table.
West Brom Team News
Bakary Sako signed for the club but it is likely that Moore will slowly integrate him into the team. Although Matt Phillips is close to a return, it is unlikely that he will be rushed into the starting line-up so soon.
Predicted West Brom Lineup (3-4-1-2)
Defence
Sam Johnstone is set to feature in goal when West Bromwich Albion face the Royals. The custodian has been brilliant between the sticks so far this season. Moore is likely to stick with a three-man back line once again. Tosin Adarabioyo, Ahmed Hegazi and Kyle Bartley are the players who could feature.
Hegazi has been rock-solid at the back. The 27-year-old has mustered 1.6 tackles, 6.3 clearances and 1.4 blocks per game on an average after making 11 appearances in the Championship. While Bartley has also been decent, Adarabioyo should get a chance to impress the manager.
Midfield
Tyrone Mears is set to get the nod to start on the right-hand side of the midfield. Kieran Gibbs has found the right balance between his attacking endeavours and defensive duties, and he should feature on the left. The former Arsenal man has bagged two goals and three assists in 10 league appearances this season.
Jake Livermore and Chris Brunt will start in central midfield to protect the back line and dictate the tempo of the game from the middle of the park. Livermore is likely to operate from the deeper areas while Brunt is likely to get the licence to maraud forward and take part in the attacking forays.
Attack
Harvey Barnes has had an impressive start and should keep his place behind the two forwards. Dwight Gayle deserves a breather, so we could see a bit of former Reading attacker Hal Robson-Kanu alongside Jay Rodriguez. The latter has already plundered seven goals this season.
