Paris Saint-Germain shocked the world after splashing a record £198m to prise Neymar out of Barcelona last summer. As per one of the latest reports by The Sun, Manchester City are ready to beat the current transfer record as they are plotting a £200m bid to sign Kylian Mbappe from PSG.
Pep Guardiola’s camp is reportedly keen to churn the deal in the January transfer window. The defending Premier League champions are even willing to offer an audacious package of £20m-a-year in wages to Mbappe if his move to the Etihad Stadium materializes.
Mbappe is unarguably one of the hottest properties in the game and his value multiplied after his sensational run of form for the French national side. His endeavours helped Didier Deschamps’ troops in lifting the World Cup which was held in Russia earlier this year.
Apart from the Cityzens, the 19-year-old has been linked with European giants Real Madrid and Barcelona as well and therefore, it will not be easy for Manchester City to make him sign on the dotted line. Apparently, Guardiola believes that Mbappe has the calibre to help his side in the Champions League and it will be intriguing to see what lies ahead for the attacker.
