9/10 For Barkley: Chelsea Player Ratings vs Burnley

Chelsea moved up to second in the Premier League table, albeit temporarily, following a 4-0 demolition of Burnley earlier this afternoon.

Here are the Chelsea player ratings

Kepa Arrizabalaga (6/10): Struggled while dealing with the aerial balls at times. His distribution was also a bit off and he was lucky to preserve his clean sheet.

Cesar Azpilicueta (8/10): A responsible performance from Cesar Azpilicueta who prevented Robbie Brady from making any inroads. The Spaniard also won six aerial duels; a tally only bettered by Burnley striker Sam Vokes.

Antonio Rudiger (8/10): Remained largely untroubled in the game as he gets better and better with time. Rudiger was also impressive in terms of his passing and ball-circulation from the back even though Burnley applied a lot of pressure with their pressing.

David Luiz (8/10): Complemented the work of his defensive partner Rudiger as the duo formed a solid partnership which kept the Burnley attack at bay. However, he did struggle against Sam Vokes in the aerial battles, winning only one of his five duels.

Marcos Alonso (8/10): Provided a lot of support in attack and made a host of marauding runs. He was also solid in defence, keeping out the threat of Johann Berg-Gudmundsson.

N’Golo Kante (9/10): One of the most impressive performers on the pitch, N’Golo Kante flourished in midfield as he often made driving runs into the Burnley defence. He was energetic as ever and offered Chelsea the thrust at the centre of the pitch. In the end, he was unlucky not to score a goal himself, largely due to his unselfishness in the final third.

Jorginho (8/10): While the likes of Kante and Barkley ploughed forward, it was Jorginho who kept things ticking in midfield with some pinpoint passing and impressive ball rotation. Maurizio Sarri made a wise decision of substituting him later in the game given Chelsea’s congested schedule in the coming weeks.

Ross Barkley (9.5/10): In a game where every player performed, Ross Barkley was the best of the lot as the former Everton star terrorised the Burnley defence with his attacking flair and creativity. As iterated earlier, he provided two assists and scored Chelsea’s second of the game – a goal which came from a brilliant strike from outside the box.

Pedro (7/10): Started the game on a positive note but was unlucky to have picked up an injury as he was replaced around the half-hour mark.

Alvaro Morata (9/10): Produced one of his best performances for the club despite scoring just one goal. The Spaniard didn’t lack any service from his teammates and made clever runs to free up more spaces for the likes of Willian and Barkley.

Willian (9/10): Arguably the most active Chelsea player in the game, Willian wreaked havoc from the flanks. He looked like a completely different player from the left-flank, something Sarri must take note of. Scored a brilliant goal in the second half to cap off a convincing display.

Substitutes

Ruben Loftus-Cheek (8/10): Came on for the injured Pedro early on and left his mark on the game. After scoring a hat-trick against BATE on Thursday, the English international continued his scoring form late on as he slotted the ball in the injury time to add further gloss into the scoreline.

Olivier Giroud (7.5/10): Replaced the tiring Morata in the 75th minute and led the Chelsea attack well during the final phase of the game. He was unlucky not to score after hitting the bar from an excellent Azpilicueta cross from the right flank.
