Wolverhampton Wanderers will be looking to continue their good form in the Premier League as they travel Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace on Saturday. The newly-promoted side are unbeaten in the English top flight since the loss to Leicester and a win this weekend could potentially lift them ahead of Watford, Bournemouth and Leicester in the league table.
Palace, on the other hand, have already tasted four defeats this season, with their latest one coming against Bournemouth earlier this week.
Wolves Team news
Wolves will do not have any fresh injury concerns ahead of the clash. Helder Costa is the only doubt as he suffered a knock and is unlikely to start against Palace.
Aside from that, coach Nuno Espirito Santo will have the privilege of choosing from an almost entirely fit Wolves squad.
Predicted Wolves Lineup
Defence
Rui Patricio will remain in goal for the visitors as he eyes his fourth clean sheet of the season.
Wolves have done quite well defensively this season, and Espirito Santo will have no reason to tangle with his trusted three-man backline of Ryan Bennett, Conor Coady, and Willy Boly. All three of these defenders have been pretty solid this season with each averaging over 3.5 clearances per game.
Matt Doherty and the ever-reliable Jonny will be deployed as the wingbacks, with the latter averaging the second most number of tackles in the team.
Midfield
The partnership of Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho has arguably been the most effective midfield duo in the Premier League this season with both players playing a pivotal role in Wolves’ impressive start to the campaign.
While Moutinho has orchestrated the games with his pin-point passing, the dynamic Neves has played an integral role in Wolves’ transition play as well as their creativity in the final third. And fans will be hoping for a similar performance against Crystal Palace this weekend.
Attack
With Helder Costa unlikely to start, Adama Traore will deputise for the Portuguese attacker alongside Diogo Jota.
Traore has shown a lot of promise in this early part of the season and could become an X-factor for Wolves going forward.
None other than Raul Jimenez will lead the attack. The Mexican has hit the ground running at his new club, and the manager will be hoping he can impress against a strong Palace defence.
Jota – Jimenez – Traore
Castro – Neves – Moutinho – Doherty
Boly – Coady – Bennett
