As per one of the latest reports by ESPN, Manchester United are keeping close tabs on Flamengo midfielder Lucas Paqueta. Apart from the Red Devils, Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in Paqueta and it would be intriguing to see what lies ahead for him.
Manchester United haven’t had a bright start to their new season under the tutelage of Jose Mourinho. The former Chelsea manager is expected to beef up his squad during the January transfer window and no wonder why he is in the race to sign Paqueta.
PSG are reportedly plotting a £35m move to make the 21-year-old sign on the dotted line but it is claimed that Mourinho’s camp are set to battle the Ligue 1 giants to acquire him. Paqueta is one of the prized assets in South America and Flamengo are reluctant to lose him.
The vice-president of the Brazilian outfit Ricardo Lomba has said: “We want him to stay and will do everything we can to keep him at the club where he’s developed as a player.” However, with big clubs from Europe hovering over him, it would be tough for Flamengo to keep him in their arsenal.
