Liverpool have carved a smashing start to their new season in the Premier League under the tutelage of Jurgen Klopp. The Reds have won their entire first five league outings, with their latest fixture ending in a 2-1 win over title contenders Tottenham Hotspur at the Wembley Stadium on Saturday.
Klopp has been relying heavily on his attacking trio of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah and all of them have been generating stupendous dividends. However, the former Borussia Dortmund manager has not been able to give enough chances to Dominic Solanke.
Signed by Liverpool on a free transfer last summer, Solanke has struggled to find game time. Liverpool are a big club with huge expectations to cater and Klopp can certainly not be blamed for putting his best players in the starting line-up. Interesting, Rio Ferdinand believes Solanke should leave the Anfield in the near future.
The Manchester United legend said: “Solanke is sitting (on the bench) at Liverpool, he was sitting at Chelsea. He has gone to Liverpool for opportunities and he’s not getting that. He has got to get out.” Despite being linked with Rangers in the summer, Klopp kept Solanke in his ranks but he really needs to play regularly to keep his career in the ascendancy, something which is apparently unlikely to happen if he stays at Liverpool.
