McBurnie To Return: Predicted 4-4-2 Swansea City Lineup Vs Middlesbrough

Swansea City suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Stoke City at bet365 Stadium earlier this week. On Saturday, the Swans are due to make a trip to the Riverside Stadium to face Middlesbrough and will be aiming to put on a strong performance.

At the moment, Swansea City are placed at the 10th spot in the league standings with 12 points to their name from 8 games. The Smoggies have started their season in a stupendous manner and we expect an intriguing game of football between the two sides.

Swansea City Team News

Graham Potter has been handed a boost with Tom Carroll and Jay Fulton returning to action. But Bersant Celina and Leroy Fer are expected to miss out once again. Courtney Baker-Richardson will complete his 3-match ban and will be joined on the sidelines by Wilfried Bony and Jefferson Montero.

PREDICTED SWANSEA CITY LINE-UP TO FACE MIDDLESBROUGH (4-4-2)

Defence

Erwin Mulder was stationed under the bar against the Potters but in the upcoming league fixture, we expect Kristoffer Nordfeldt to take his place.

Conor Roberts and Martin Olsson are set to start once again in the right and left-back slot, respectively. Olsson has volumes of experience under his belt and Roberts, despite being relatively new, has dazzled so far this campaign.

Cameron Carter-Vickers is likely to be replaced by Joe Rodon in central defence. Alongside Rodon, we expect Mike van der Hoorn to be stationed to provide resilience at the back.

In 8 appearances in the Championship, van der Hoorn has averaged 0.8 tackles and 8.3 clearances per game and has been a genuine leader on the pitch for the Wales-based outfit.

Midfield

Matt Grimes and Kyle Naughton should continue in the centre of the pitch. While Naughton will be more of a defence-oriented midfielder, Grimes will be handed the license to get forward and express himself.

Meanwhile, Barrie McKay should get the nod to start this time around on the left side of the midfield. His industry and creativity should come in handy for his employers. Nathan Dyer is likely to start on the opposite flank.

Attack

Oliver McBurnie has notched up 4 goals in 8 league appearances so far this season and he is expected to get the nod to start up front in a 2-man strike force. Daniel James is expected to partner him with Potter looking to keep the mighty Boro on the backfoot.
