Fabregas To Start: Predicted 4-3-3 Chelsea Lineup Vs West Ham United

Chelsea will be looking for their sixth consecutive Premier League win when they face an inconsistent West Ham United in a few hours. The Blues have arguably been the most impressive team in the league this campaign showing a staunch resolute attitude along with attacking flair which bodes well for the long season ahead.

West Ham, on the contrary, have been one of the most disappointing teams in the league with their only win coming last week against Everton. The Hammers, therefore, will look to avoid any humiliation, with Pellegrini, in particular, growing more anxious with every dropped point.

Team news

Unlike West Ham United, Chelsea will have very few injury worries ahead of their clash this weekend. Pedro and Mateo Kovacic both took knocks last weekend and will be assessed before the game. However, it is unlikely that they will feature with Maurizio Sarri more than happy with his options.

Elsewhere, Marco Van Ginkel is sidelined with an injury while Emerson is doubtful.

Defence

We could expect Sarri to make a host of changes from the side that won against PAOK. While goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga will certainly retain his place in between the sticks, Davide Zappacosta will make way for Cesar Azpilicueta in the right back position with Marcos Alonso starting on the opposite flank.

Antonio Rudiger will also retain his place in central defence but will have a new partner in David Luiz, who, in turn, will replace Andreas Christensen. Luiz has been a regular under Sarri this season and his aggression and ball-playing qualities could hand his side the advantage.

Midfield

Ross Barkley was excellent in the win over PAOK in midweek. But, the English international will likely be rested for this encounter with Cesc Fabregas expected to take his place.

The midfield duo of N’Golo Kante and Jorginho will retain their places at the base of Chelsea’s 4-3-3. However, Jorginho failed to make much of an impact against PAOK, putting together only 59 passes whilst failing to create any chances. Therefore, he will have a point to prove today.

Attack

The Chelsea attack will be led by Olivier Giroud, who will replace Alvaro Morata. The Frenchman has already registered three assists in the Premier League this season but will be desperate to score his first goal of the season against the Hammers.

Giroud will be supported by the wide-duo of Willian and Eden Hazard, both of whom have been excellent this season. Hazard, in particular, leads the league in successful dribbles(18) and has created the most number of chances amongst the Chelsea players.
