Change In Midfield: Predicted 4-2-3-1 Celtic Lineup vs Kilmarnock

Celtic registered a 1-0 win over Rosenborg in the mid-week Europa League fixture at the Celtic Park and their attention will now shift to the Premiership as they are due to make a trip to the Rugby Park to face Kilmarnock on Sunday.

The Bhoys haven’t been at their dominating best so far this season in the league. They have collected 10 points from their first 5 games and are second in the league. Their last game ended in a goalless stalemate with St. Mirren and Rodgers’ men will want to make up for the two dropped points.

Celtic Team News

Marvin Compper is back in training after his groin injury but is unlikely to be rushed back into the starting line-up. Jozo Simunovic, Nir Bitton and Kristoffer Ajer remain unavailable.

Olivier Ntcham picked up a red in the previous league fixture and is suspended.

Predicted Celtic Lineup (4-2-3-1)

Defence

Craig Gordon has been the undisputed first-choice custodian for the Celts this season. He starts in goal.

Dedryck Boyata and Filip Benkovic are likely to start in the central defence. Both of them were rock-solid at the back against Rosenborg.

Kieran Tierney and Mikael Lustig should start as the two fullbacks and the duo could see a lot of the ball as Celtic will try and stretch the play.

Midfield

As Ntcham is suspended, we expect Youssouf Mulumbu to get his first start of the season for the Glasgow based outfit. Mulumbu is likely to partner Scott Brown in central midfield.

Tom Rogic will have the creative onus on his shoulders as he is expected to start as the central attacking midfielder. He can pick a pass and considering Celtic will be up against a team who could sit back, his ability to unlock the defence will be key.

Attack

Leigh Griffiths deserves to lead the line against Steve Clarke’s side. His goal proved to be the difference between Celtic and Rosenborg on Thursday and he showed a lot of hunger after getting a start.

Callum McGregor should find himself on the left wing, with James Forrest likely to start on the other flank.
