As per one of the latest reports by The Sun, Manchester United have placed Ajax midfielder Frenkie de Jong on their radar. Apart from the Red Devils, Tottenham Hotspur and Barcelona are also believed to be interested to make him sign on the dotted line.
The report also states that Manchester United sent scouts to watch de Jong in action during Holland’s national league clash against France in Paris earlier this month. Jose Mourinho is believed to be a huge fan of the 21-year-old and is keen to bring him to the Old Trafford.
Versatility is one of the strongest suits of the young gun as he is capable of plying his trade anywhere in the midfield as well as in the defence. After a disappointing summer transfer window, Mourinho is desperate to delve into the January transfer market to bolster his squad.
The red half of Manchester are confident of landing him in their arsenal as they share close ties with Ajax. Their former goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar is their CEO and further, de Jong is believed to be an admirer of the Premier League.
