After signing for Manchester City from Liverpool in the summer of 2015, Raheem Sterling has proved his calibre for the blue half of Manchester. He played a key role for his employers the last term and helped them in clinching the Premier League title.
In 33 top-flight appearances last season, the 23-year-old plundered 18 goals and registered 11 assists. Besides, he has started the ongoing campaign in a very productive manner as he has already found the back of the net on 3 occasions in 4 league outings for Pep Guardiola’s side.
However, questions about his future at the Etihad Stadium have started to surface. His current deal is set to expire in the summer of 2020 and talks about a new deal between him and the club have stalled. As per one of the latest reports by Guardian, Sterling wants a pay of at least £220,000-a-week.
Speaking about his fondness for the English international, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola said on Friday: “It’s well-known we’re delighted with him and would like him to continue. My club knows my opinion and we share that. After that it is the club and the agent.”
