As per one of the latest reports by Bristol Live, Aston Villa are very close to lure John Terry to the Villa Park. Although the summer transfer window has shut down, the Villans would still be able to make him sign on the dotted line as he is a free agent.
Aston had to let Terry go after the end of the previous campaign owing to their financial difficulties. They were unable to secure their promotion to the Premier League and were close to being administered. However, they are in a much better state now, with investments readied by the new owners.
Steve Bruce’s side had started their new season in the English second tier in a stuttering fashion. They have collected merely 9 points from their first 6 league outings and are placed at the 12th spot in the Championship table. Apparently, they are lacking a leader on the pitch.
Terry carved a notable season with the Lions last term and was quite resilient in the heart of their back line. The former Chelsea skipper made 36 appearances for them and helped them in reaching to the playoffs, where they eventually lost to Fulham in the final.
