Aaron Ramsey’s contract with Arsenal is set to expire at the end of the ongoing campaign and a fresh deal is yet to be churned. The Gunners are facing the prospect of losing Ramsey for free next summer if they fail to make him sign on the dotted line of a contract extension.
Reportedly, Liverpool and Chelsea were hovering over the Welsh international during the summer transfer window as talks between the midfielder and Arsenal were not moving in the right direction. It is understood that the former Cardiff City player is looking for pay parity with Mesut Ozil.
As per one of the latest reports by Express, Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis is earmarked by AC Milan to take up the same role at the Serie A outfit. Gazidis is expected to make the most of his links with Ramsey and use his influence to lure him to San Siro next summer.
The 27-year-old would be offered a better package by the Red and Blacks as they would be able to sign him for free and therefore, would have more money to fork out on his salary. Ramsey is unarguably one of the biggest stars in the ranks of Unai Emery’s side and it would be a huge blow for them if they eventually lose him.
