As per one of the latest reports by Birmingham Live, Chelsea centre-back Gary Cahill is all set to stay at the Stamford Bridge. Cahill is believed to be determined to fight for a regular place in the starting line-up of Maurizio Sarri’s side this season instead of heading towards the exit door.
Lately, the 32-year-old was getting heavily linked with Turkish outfit Galatasaray and Championship side Aston Villa. However, he has shut the doors of speculations stating his move away from the ranks of Blues despite not having played for his club yet in the ongoing campaign.
Cahill emerged through the youth ranks of Aston Villa and while he was on their books, he garnered productive loan spells with Burnley and Sheffield United. After making a staggering name for himself following his permanent switch to Bolton Wanderers, he was lured to Chelsea in the January transfer window of 2012.
He has made nearly 300 appearances for the London based club and has won two Premier League titles with them. Currently, the captain of Chelsea, such a step by him will be cherished by the fans and the club, although Steve Bruce would be disappointed owing to the failure to make him sign on the dotted line.
