As per one of the latest reports by Express & Star, Oleksandr Zinchenko has rejected a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Premier League newcomers had tabled a bid of £16m for Zinchenko, and he was booked for a medical earlier today.
However, the 21-year-old is rather keen to fight for a place at Manchester City. There is no denying that this is a bold step by the Manchester City starlet as he would have to fight really hard to accumulate adequate amount of game time under his belt this season under Pep Guardiola.
The former Bayern Munich boss has a plethora of world-class midfielders in his ranks and there would be a risk of stagnation for Zinchenko. Capable of operating anywhere on the left as well as in the central midfield, Zinchenko could have been a splendid signing for Nuno Espirito Santo’s camp.
Wolves have made some staggering acquisitions this summer, having made the likes of Willy Boly, Diogo Jota, Adama Traore and Joao Moutinho sign on the dotted line. Although the Ukrainian international would have beefed up their arsenal further, they still have a formidable side to ply their trade in the Premier League.
