Rangers Player Ratings From Their Draw Against Aberdeen: Jack Dazzles, Morelos Flops

After an early red card for Alfredo Morelos, Rangers took the lead against Aberdeen through James Tavernier’s penalty strike at the Pittodrie Stadium earlier today. Despite showing plenty of resilience, the Gers couldn’t hold on for the win and conceded a late equaliser in the dying embers of the game. Bruce Anderson scored the leveller for Aberdeen.

Here is how Steven Gerrard’s side fared during their clash against the Dons.

Rangers player ratings

Allan McGregor 7/10

The custodian was barely tested and he could have done nothing about the goal he conceded.

James Tavernier 9/10

It was arguably one of the best outings for Tavernier in Rangers’ shirt. He engineered a fine balance between his defensive duties and offensive endeavours and was brilliant throughout the game.

Connor Goldson 8/10

Goldson looked assured and reliable at the back. He hardly put a foot wrong and was pretty solid.

Nikola Katic 7/10

Partnering Goldson at the heart of the defence, Katic put in an impressive display. However, his positioning and use of the ball was questionable at times.

Jon Flanagan 8/10

The newcomer was industrious and showcased a lot of intent while galloping forward. He was exciting to watch.

Lassana Coulibaly 7/10

Although he worked really hard, Coulibaly dented his credentials by committing needless fouls. Nonetheless, he helped his teammates in attack and should get better in the coming fixtures.

Ryan Jack 9/10

Jack was absolutely fantastic and he could be a handy asset for the Glasgow giants this season. He was the engine room for his side.

Scott Arfield 8/10

The Canadian international put his experience to good use and did well to keep possession of the ball at times. He already looks like an astute signing for the team.

Josh Windass 7/10

Although he was sluggish in the initial stages of the game, he got into the groove after Morelos was sent off. He was more useful while he operated centrally as a striker.

Jamie Murphy 5/10

Murphy was wasteful on plenty of occasions and could have had a better outing.

Alfredo Morelos 3/10

The striker was lively on the pitch but he let his team down with the red card.

Substitutes

Ryan Kent 6/10

Kent replaced Murphy and was able to bring more energy to the table.

Ovie Ejaria 5/10

With less than 10 minutes of normal time left, he replaced Jack and looked good on the ball.
