Predicted 3-4-3 Wolves lineup vs Leicester City: Jimenez to start

Wolverhampton Wanderers will look register their first win after returning to the top flight when they travel to King Power Stadium to face Leicester City this Saturday.

The newly-promoted side managed a 2-2 draw against Everton last weekend and even though it was only against an Everton side who were a man short, the desire the team showed was impressive. Espirito Santo’s side are still a work in progress having signed quite a few new faces though and the clash with Leicester will be the ideal challenge for the side.

The Foxes suffered an opening day defeat to Manchester United but there were quite a few positives to take home.

Wolves – Team news

Jose Espirito Santo will have to deal with a couple of absentees with Ivan Cavaleiro recovering from his back problem while new signing Adama Traore is also recovering from his shoulder issue. There has been no definitive news regarding the availability of new signing Leander Dendoncker either.

Wolves – Predicted Lineup

Defence

Rui Patricio will retain his place in goal. The Portuguese international will be keen on picking up his first clean sheet.

We expect a three-man backline of Ryan Bennett, Conor Coady and Willy Boly.

Bennett will have the additional responsibility of leading his side from the back against a sharp Leicester City attack. The former Norwich City defender won five aerials duels against the Toffees and also made seven clearances. It will be interesting to see how he copes with the pressure of having to stop a far more direct Leicester attack.

Midfield

The Portuguese duo of Joao Moutinho and Ruben Neves will undoubtedly retain their place at the base of Wolves’ 3-4-3 formation. Neves, in particular, will be a threat having impressed against Everton last weekend.

The former FC Porto starlet was flawless against the Toffees, scoring the first equaliser whilst providing the assist for his side’s second goal. He also took three shots and attempted 91 passes with an accuracy of 84%. His technical prowess coupled with his vision make him the player to watch out for.

Elsewhere, Matt Doherty and Jonathan Castro could start on the flanks and provide the width to the midfield.

Attack

Raul Jimenez will have with the responsibility of leading the Wolves attack this weekend. The former Atletico frontman scored on his Premier League debut last week and will be itching to add to his tally this weekend.

The Mexican international will be supported by the wide-duo of Diogo Jota and Helder Costa. Expect Leo Bonatini to play a key role later in the second half.
