One Defeat Away: Is The End Very Near For Jose Mourinho?

Manchester United’s new season went from bad to worse after their 3-0 defeat at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur on Monday. Their loss came just after their thrilling 3-2 defeat against Brighton & Hove Albion at the AMEX Stadium last Sunday.

So far, the Red Devils have managed to collect just three points from three league outings and manager Jose Mourinho is apparently immense pressure from the fans. Reportedly, Mourinho is just one defeat away from receiving marching orders from the board.

The Portuguese was brought to the Old Trafford after stuttering spells from David Moyes and Louis van Gaal. He was expected to challenge his compatriot Pep Guardiola for the Premier League title but the scenery didn’t unfold in the manner in which it is was dreamt of.

Manchester United’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward, however, is reluctant to axe Mourinho despite the club’s current run of form. On Sunday, the twenty-time English top-flight champions are due to make a trip to the Turf Moor to lock horns with Burnley and Mourinho needs to change the fortunes of the club by hook or by crook to save his job.
