Although the transfer window for the Premier League sides has ceased to exist, the European transfer window is due to close on 31st August. Interestingly, reports had emerged in the last few days about Paris Saint-Germain’s interest to sign Tottenham Hotspur star Christian Eriksen.
Eriksen has been an instrumental player for the north London based outfit for quite some time and in all fairness, Spurs simply cannot afford to lose one of their best players. The Ligue 1 outfit were believed to have been plotting a sensational and surprising £100m move for Eriksen to beef up their arsenal.
However, in an e-mail to The Associated Press, the French giants denied about the reports linking them with the 26-year-old. PSG said that it “categorically denies the transfer rumours regarding a potential transfer of Christian Eriksen” adding that the reports “seem to ignore the current reality of the transfer market.”
PSG are finding it hard to balance their books after splashing huge amount of cash to lure Kylian Mbappe and Neymar to their ranks in the past two summers. Owing to the Financial Fair Play regulations, their hands are tied and their refusal on the speculations with respect to Eriksen should come as a huge sigh of relief for Spurs’ fans.
