As per one of the latest reports by Nottingham Post, Nottingham Forest are desirous to bolster their attacking options and have apparently put Middlesbrough’s striker Rudy Gestede on their radar. The Tricky Tress are keen to lure Gestede to the City Ground on loan for the rest of the campaign.
Aitor Karanka has already made a number of signings in the summer transfer window, including the likes of Joao Carvalho, Lewis Grabban, El Arbi Hillel Soudani and Michael Hefele but the Championship outfit’s performances have been far from satisfactory so far.
Nottingham Forest have collected just 7 points from their 5 league fixtures so far and they really need to up ante if they are to serious make a challenge for promotion to the Premier League. Gestede has therefore emerged as a major target to beef up their striking arsenal and to bring more competition for a place in the starting line-up.
The 29-year-old has truckloads of experience of English football under his belt, having previously plied his trade for Cardiff City, Blackburn Rovers and Aston Villa. He hasn’t been getting enough game time at Middlesbrough and a temporary exit from the Riverside Stadium would make a lot of sense.
