As per one of the latest reports by The Guardian, Manchester City’s wide man Raheem Sterling has emerged as a target for Real Madrid. The Spanish giants are well aware of Sterling’s contractual situation at the Etihad Stadium and are readying themselves for a move for them next summer.
ESPN have reported that Los Blancos are willing to splash truckloads of cash prior to the start of next campaign and Sterling is high on their wish-list. He was a subject of interest for Real Madrid during the summer transfer window of 2015 before he switched to Manchester City from Liverpool.
The 23-year-old has two seasons left on his current contract with the defending Premier League champions. Currently, he earns merely £175,000-a-week and with the availability of Riyad Mahrez on the books of Pep Guardiola, he is no longer an indispensable asset for the blue half of Manchester.
Last season, the English international carved a marvellous season in the top flight as he scored 18 goals and registered 11 assists in 33 league outings. With little movement towards signing a new deal having been made so far, it will be intriguing to see what future has in store for Sterling.
