Klopp Unhappy Despite Flying Start By Liverpool

Liverpool have carved a productive start to the new Premier League season. After 4-0 demolition of West Ham United at the Anfield in the opening fixture, Jurgen Klopp’s men secured all three points against Crystal Palace with a 2-0 win at the Selhurst Park yesterday.

Just before the half-time, James Milner gave the lead to the visitors from the penalty spot. The decision to award a penalty kick by the referee was a controversial as Mohamed Salah went down after a slight touch by Mamadou Sakho. However, the Eagles came back stronger after the break.

Crystal Palace attacked frequently but lacked the final output and eventually, it was Sadio Mane’s late goal which ensured a victory for Liverpool. Despite his side’s win, Klopp was unsatisfied, particularly with Andrew Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold and criticized them after the game.

While speaking to Sky Sports, he said: “It was not a brilliant performance – our full-backs can play 70 or 80% better – but I’m very happy with the result.” On Saturday, the Reds are due to host Brighton & Hove Albion and it would be intriguing to see how the full-backs react on the pitch after their manager voiced his disappointment.
