Unai Emery is believed to be a huge fan of Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele and as per one of the latest reports by Metro, Arsenal are keen to make a move to lure him to the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners are believed to have proposed Barcelona an initial £8.9m loan fee, with a mandatory clause to make the deal permanent next summer for £80.3m.
Dembele hasn’t received enough trust or support from Barca’s manager Ernesto Valverde. Despite words of assurance of his future at Nou Camp from President Josep Maria, the 21-year-old might not be fully convinced, particularly after the entry of Malcom into the ranks of Valverde from Bordeaux earlier this summer for £35m.
Emery has made five signings for far in the ongoing transfer window, namely, Sokratis, Bernd Leno, Stephan Lichtsteiner, Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi. Although the former Paris Saint-Germain boss believes that Dembele can spice up his side’s attacking endeavours, the North London based outfit have already spent a large chunk of their budget for this summer.
Besides, the additions of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the January transfer window earlier this year during the reign of Arsene Wenger had brought sufficient amount of quality in the attacking sector. Nonetheless, it is to be seen whether Arsenal go all in to sign Dembele or not.
