Under the stewardship of Steven Gerrard, Rangers have been heavily active in the summer transfer window to beef up their ranks. The Gers have certainly lured some quality players like Scott Arfield, Jamie Murphy, Connor Goldson and Nikola Katic to the Ibrox Stadium.
However, the Glasgow giants are apparently keen to bring Kyle Lafferty back to their ranks after his exit six years ago. Earlier this summer, Rangers saw their bid of £200,000 getting rejected by Heart of Midlothian and another offer of cash plus Lee Wallace was also turned down by the Jambos.
As per one of the latest reports by Daily Star, Hearts have slapped a price tag of £750,000 on Lafferty’s collar and Rangers have to shell out the same amount to prise him out of the Tynecastle Stadium. Impliedly, Gerrard’s camp has to significantly up their initial offers.
It will be intriguing to see whether Rangers roll out the amount set by Lafferty’s current employers. At the moment, the Light Blues have Alfredo Morelos and Umar Sadiq as their recognized strikers on their books. The 30-year-old impressed during his side’s 1-0 win over Celtic on Saturday and he was the one scored the deciding goal of the game.
