The Championship outfits have until 31st August to beef up their arsenal by loan deals and as per one of the latest reports by Daily Star, Aston Villa are keen to lure Liverpool winger Sheyi Ojo and Southampton left-back Matt Targett to the Villa Park before the transfer window shuts down.
Both Ojo and Targett had spent last season on loan with Fulham and played instrumental roles in the promotion of the Cottagers to the Premier League. Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce is familiar with the calibre these two possess and is circling around them at the moment.
Targett was linked heavily with Fulham earlier this summer but the Saints refused a bid of £15m from Slavisa Jokanovic’s camp over a permanent move. Interestingly, Mark Hughes is yet to use him in the top flight and reportedly, he is ready to ship him out on loan once again.
Meanwhile, 21-year-old winger Ojo is unlikely to get regular game time under his belt if he stays at the Anfield and therefore, a loan move to the ranks of the Villans will make a lot of sense. Although Jurgen Klopp believes a loan deal will help Ojo, the starlet is determined to force his way into Liverpool’s first team.
