According to a recent report by Birmingham Mail, Wolverhampton Wanderers are keen to prise Middlesbrough speedster, Adama Traore, out of the Riverside Stadium. Previously, Traore was linked to Premier League outfits such as Newcastle United, Chelsea and Huddersfield Town and apparently, Wolves seem to be interested in securing his services now.
Fact File
Having emerged through the youth ranks of Barcelona, Traore made a mark in the Barcelona B side but couldn’t establish a foothold in the first team squad of Barca. He moved to Aston Villa in the summer of 2015 and exactly a year later he joined Middlesbrough. He has become a significant player for the Smoggies and has also represented various youth sides of Spain.
Attributes
Capable of plying his trade on either wing, the 22-year-old has blistering pace in his legs and is a fine dribbler considering his age. He is clearly a talent waiting to explode but he needs to stick to the task sincerely if he is to live up to his massive potential.
He is far from being a finished product but he should better his credentials in the coming seasons. He has to work on his passes, his discipline and ability to take the right decision. Moreover, one generally expects a winger to contribute defensively but Traore hasn’t done enough of that and owing to his adrenaline rush, he commits a few disciplinary errors which he must try to curtail to progress further.
How Did He Fare Last Season?
Traore has been slightly inconsistent overall since his move to Middlesbrough but he kissed new heights last season, particularly under the tutelage of Tony Pulis. In 36 appearances in the Championship, he smashed 5 goals and registered 10 assists and in all fairness, he was one of the players who must be applauded for taking Middlesbrough close to promotion to the Premier League.
Chances Of Wolves Signing Him?
Nuno Espirito Santo’s outfit will be facing the elite clubs of the country this season and they have beefed up their arsenal by signing the likes of Diogo Jota, Willy Boly and Leo Bonatini but then, bagging someone with huge potential like Traore will only enhance the quality of his side. Although the Riversiders are reluctant to lose their prized asset, Traore might be tempted by the chance of playing in the English top flight and it will be intriguing to see whether Middlesbrough manage to keep the wing sensation in their ranks.
