There are still a few days left before the transfer window closes and we could see quite a bit of action in the coming days. However, deals in the coming days could see quite a lot of money involved as the Premier League deadline closes before the season starts.
Quite a few signings have already been made, include a few record deals. We’re here to take a look at some of the best value for money transfers made yet…
#3 Alireza Jahanbakhsh – AZ Alkmaar to Brighton
Top scorer of the Eredivisie, Jahanbakhsh was a name not many had head before the World Cup. His performances for Iran during the World Cup were impressive as they pushed Spain and Portugal in the group stage.
Jahanbakhsh is predominantly a right winger and his goal-scoring output from the right was mighty impressive last season. 18 of his goals came from the right and he ended the season with 21 goals and an incredible 12 assists.
For a reported fee in the region of £17m, he is a pretty good signing. The Brighton fans will hope he doesn’t turn out like Memphis Depay or Vincent Janssen, also Eredivisie imports who did well in the Netherlands.
#2 Xherdan Shaqiri – Stoke City to Liverpool
Shaqiri was again impressive during the World Cup as he helped his team beat the Serbians and progress to the knockout stages. A pretty agile attacker, Shaqiri has the ability to play behind the striker as well and could be the depth Liverpool needed.
Last season, he was Stoke’s best player and managed eight goals for the Potters. It’ll be tough for him getting into the team ahead of Salah, but with quite a lot of games there to play next season, he could be a crucial player in the second half of the season.
For a fee of £13.5m, he’s a brilliant signing.
#1 Jack Wilshere – Arsenal to West Ham United
Everyone wondered where Wilshere would move next and his destination was a surprising one – West Ham. Considering his injury woes in recent years, though, not a lot of sides were willing to take the punt on him.
West Ham have signed some impressive players in the on-going transfer window but Wilshere could be the key player because of where he’ll be playing.
While they have the talents of Felipe Anderson, Javier Hernandez and Andriy Yarmolenko in attack, Wilshere could be the bridge from defence to attack if he stays fit. One hell of a player to be able to sign for free!
