West Ham United Want Everton Ace To Bolster Attack: A Move They Need To Make?

West Ham United are apparently interested in the services of Yannick Bolasie, according to latest reports from The Guardian. The Everton winger is tipped to leave Goodison Park this summer following a miserable two-year stint, with West Ham leading the race for his signature.

Newly appointed Everton head coach Marco Silva is adamant on executing a squad overhaul this summer, after taking over charge from Sam Allardyce earlier this summer. The Portuguese mastermind is already keen on getting rid of few of the redundant players and Yannick Bolasie is believed to be included in that list.

Bolasie joined The Toffees in the summer of 2016 for a whopping fee of almost €30m but has failed to live up to the billing thus far. During his time at Merseyside, Bolasie has managed to score only two goals in 32 matches across the past couple of seasons. Although it’s also fair to point out that injuries have also marred his progress at Everton.

His debut season already indicated that the DR Congo international is bound to struggle at Goodison Park. As a result of that, Bolasie could only muster 854 minutes of league football last season. Therefore, a move out of Everton is imperative for Yannick Bolasie, if he is to secure proper game-time next season and West Ham, in that case, could turn out to be a perfect suitor for the former Crystal Palace attacker.

West Ham, who have also appointed a new manager in Manuel Pellegrini this summer, are keen to make an impact in the Premier League next season. After finishing towards the wrong end of the table last season, the Hammers will be looking to bolster their squad this summer.

Aside from their horrible defence, lack of attacking potency has also been one of the key reasons behind West Ham’s struggles last season. The likes of Javier Hernandez, Andy Carroll and Manuel Lanzini have failed to provide the goods in the attacking department, with most of them either struggling with injuries or lack of form.

Therefore, the addition of Yannick Bolasie could be revitalizing for the West Ham’s offensive department next season. His sheer pace coupled with his box of trickery has already been quite useful in the past, especially against the Premier League defences and Manuel Pellegrini will definitely be delighted to secure his services this summer.

However, signing Yannick Bolasie could also turn out to be a huge gamble considering the fact that the Congolese attacker has suffered from a series of long-term injuries over the past couple of years. But that being said, it’s a risk West Ham have to take if they are to prevail in the English Premier League next season.
