4-3-3 with Bernardo on the wing? How Manchester City could line up vs Huddersfield

With three games left in the season, Manchester City, who are already crowned Champions of England, do not have too much to play for at the moment barring the records. Pep Guardiola will be happy with the way his side stepped up and put nine goals past West Ham and Swansea in the last two games after the title was decided. He will want his side to put in a similar performance this weekend when they welcome David Wagner’s Huddersfield Town to Etihad.

Having won just one of their last five games, the Terriers are just three points off the drop zone but consider themselves safe, after a decent season. They are not expected to even trouble the league leaders but have enough quality in their side to give them a fight. Guardiola will want to end the season on a strong note and is not expected to rest any of his key players. He will want all three points from this game and here is the predicted lineup he might field for this tie:

Team News

Star striker Sergio Aguero remains the only absentee ahead of this game against Huddersfield Town for Pep.  Kyle Walker and Vincent Kompany are back in training and ready for selection while John Stones and Benjamin Mendy are ready to play but will only be options from the bench.

Expected lineup (4-3-3)

Defence

Ederson has been one of the best in the league this season and will want to keep another clean sheet this weekend playing in front of his home crowd. Though Kompany is back, the manager has no reason to drop either Nicolas Otamendi or Aymeric Laporte, both of who are expected to start at the heart of the backline.

Kyle Walker is back in training but might be only on the bench this weekend. Danilo is expected to take his place at right-back while Fabian Delph will keep Benjamin Mendy on the bench at left-back.

Midfield

Fernandinho has been crucial to City’s run this season and is one of the first names on the team sheet. He will start in a no. 6 role while Spanish dazzler David Silva and Kevin de Bruyne will add creativity to this midfield.

Attack

With Aguero out injured, Gabriel Jesus is Pep’s only option to lead the line. He will keep his place in the side while Raheem Sterling might be used on the left wing. Bernardo Silva might get yet another chance to impress on the right.
