PSV’s attacking sensation Hirving Lozano might on the brink of a big-money move this summer, amidst huge interest from Premier League giants Everton. As per The Sunday People, the Toffees are keen to sign the highly rated Mexican international.
In fact, Lozano has been also rumoured to sign with super-agent Mino Raiola, as per reports from Marca Claro, further strengthing his links to a possible move to Everton.
Currently branded as the next big thing in Mexican football, Hirving Lozano’s mercurial rise has raised quite a lot of eyebrows around Europe. After making his move to PSV at the start of this season, the 22-year-old has already notched up 16 goals in just 27 matches.
His tally of eight assists has also helped de Boren maintain their impressive lead at the top of the table. In addition, he has also been a regular for the Mexican national team ever since his debut in 2016.
Everton, on the other hand, have been one of the most disappointing teams in the Premier League this season. Following a summer spending spree, in which the Toffees broke the bank to sign some of the most talented players in Europe, they are currently dawdling in mid-table.
Lack of attacking endeavour has been one of the main reasons behind their dip in form this campaign. The likes of Sandro Ramirez, Davy Klaassen and Gylfi Sigurdsson have all failed to live up to their hefty price-tags. While Ramirez has already left the club, Everton are definitely in dire need of a potent attacker who can add quality to their ineffective attacking department.
Hirving Lozano could be an ideal addition to the Merseyside giants considering the fact that his style of play seems to suit Sam Allardyce’s tactical setup. Lozano is a dynamic inverted winger, who can not only add pace to the Everton attack but also emerge as a threat for the opposition in front of goal, largely thanks to his knack of finding the back of the net. He is capable of exploiting the space in the final third of the pitch, thanks to his pace and impressive positional sense, which can be particularly helpful for Everton’s attacking department.
Even though Hirving Lozano’s current contract with PSV expires in 2023, the Mexican international has shown immense potential in the Dutch top flight this season. Therefore, Everton should definitely take some measures in order to lure the highly talented 22-year-old to Goodison Park this summer, as they attempt to rise back among the English elite next season.
