Arsenal have been in the news recently and I would leave it up to you to decide the reason. As the summer transfer window approaches, the Gunners will be keen to revive themselves and start the next season on a high. For that to happen, they need to have a good transfer window where they sign quality players.
Granit Xhaka and Mohammed Elneny have been the weak links in the midfield as Shkodran Mustafi and Laurent Koscielny have been disappointing at the heart of the defence. If you have a look at the defence, only Nacho Monreal and Hector Bellerin to an extent seem to have done their work.
Yet, Arsenal continue to be linked with forwards. Nabil Fekir is the latest player to be linked with the Gunners
Nabil Fekir- Player Profile
Nabil Fekir has had a stellar season this time around. The forward is well capable of playing anywhere in the attacking line but is most effective playing in the number 10 role. He is a quick runner and has an amazing passing range that helps him to rip apart any defence with ease.
Fekir is more of a goal-scoring attacking midfielder as his tendency to find the back of the net consistently is quite amazing. He can play in lobbed balls, through deliveries and can smash in some excellent goals. He is a threatening figure during set pieces and his set-piece taking ability has taken his game to another level. This season, Fekir has scored 16 goals in 24 appearances in the Ligue 1, an exceptional figure for any player not playing as a striker.
Along with that, he has also created an astonishing 49 goal-scoring chances, whilst six of them have resulted in assists. He has an impressive shot accuracy of 67% that indicates that he poses a threat to the goalkeeper with almost every shot that he takes.
Arsenal should refrain from signing him
While the prospect of signing Nabil Fekir would be attractive, Arsenal actually do not need him currently. With Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Mesut Ozil at their disposal, Arsenal do not need a creative attacking midfielder. Nor do they need a striker as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette are excellent talents.
All they need are a couple of more defensive midfielders and good central defenders. The Gunners need to chop off some deadwood too and hence using their funds on luring Nabil Fekir would be bad recruitment.
