According to a report by RMC Sport, PSG attacker Lucas Moura has agreed personal terms with Tottenham Hotspur and both the clubs are expected to reach a consensus on the transfer fee in a couple of days. The Sun report that Moura was shown the training ground yesterday ahead of his possible move to the Premier League.
Spurs are fighting for a finish inside the top four spots in the English top flight. Mauricio Pochettino’s outfit have collected 45 points from 24 league games and are placed at the 5th spot in the league table. The competition is likely to intensify in the coming months and the North London based club does need to bring in reinforcements to meet their targets.
Moura would be a staggering signing for them as he is a lethal winger with immense calibre. He spent his youth career with Juventus-SP, Corinthians and Sao Paolo before he was promoted to the senior side of Sao Paolo. His prominence made PSG make him sign on the dotted line in the summer of 2012 for a fee which was reported to be €35million.
He excelled in the ranks of the Parisians but the arrivals of Angel Di Maria, Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and Julian Draxler of late to the French capital has seen him fall down the pecking order. He has been handed merely 72 minutes in the French top flight this season by Unai Emery and to avoid stagnation, an exit from Parc des Princes does make sense.
The 25-year-old would be a welcome addition for the Lilywhites in their attempts to beef up their attacking arsenal. He is capable of plying his trade on either wing as well as from the central attacking midfielder’s role and would certainly have versatility on offer. Besides, he dribbles and crosses well and his blistering pace makes him a fearsome commodity for opposition defences because he can really stretch them.
Moura loves to take on defenders and outfox them with his artistry and trickery. He has accumulated plenty of experience under his belt and given that the World Cup is on the horizon, he would be keen to make an impact to board the plane to Russia.
Moura was touted for great things when he burst on to the frame and while his career hasn’t really taken off, this might be the step which will change everything for him.
