Tottenham Hotspur have clawed their way back in the Top 4 race after notching up some decent results lately, after a mid-season slump, which threatened to break their season. They will need to keep up their good work for the rest of the campaign but have a tough task on their hands, fighting with teams that are constantly improving in quality.
Mauricio Pochettino is also looking for players who can improve his side’s chances against the best teams in the competition and this has seen him linked with some of the most exciting stars in Europe. Spurs have a very good manager, who can attract the finest of stars in the game, even mid-way through the season and here are three players Tottenham Hotspur should definitely try to sign this month.
Wilfried Zaha (Crystal Palace):
The English winger has easily been the best player for the Eagles this season and has been a transfer target for Spurs for over a year now. Palace are reluctant to sell but could be forced to at the right price and Spurs might need the expertise of the former Manchester United man, to get them home this season. He is a hard-working player, who has troubled the best of defences in the country and will solve the problem of lack of width in the attack for Spurs this season.
Rafinha (Barcelona):
The Spanish midfielder has been with the Catalan giants for over two years now and is yet to establish himself in the first team. He has failed to impress the new manager Ernesto Valverde, who might be ready to let him leave even in January. Most top clubs in England have already been linked with a move for the midfielder and Spurs should definitely look to add his quality to their side. He is a gifted footballer who can win games on his own and will improve Spurs’ chances of a top-4 finish.
Lucas Moura (PSG):
The Brazilian winger has fallen horribly out of favour at the French capital. He is also wanted by Manchester United but PSG need to sell quickly and Tottenham Hotspur can easily lure them with an attractive offer. One of the quickest wingers in the game, Lucas is still just 25, fits into Pochettino’s recruitment model really well and will also be available on the cheap. Like Zaha, he will also add width to the Spurs attack and is definitely a player they should look to sign.
