Liverpool still in with a chance to sign Argentine midfield ace: But should they take it?

According to reports, Liverpool have been rebuffed in their attempts to sign Javier Pastore, after the player rejected the club’s approach in order to push for a move to Inter Milan.

However, PSG can’t allow Pastore to leave the club on loan to Inter due to the Financial Fair Play rules, meaning the Merseyside club could have a small chance of luring the Argentine to the Premier League, however, unlikely that may seem.

Javier Pastore has been completely out of favour under Unai Emery this season, often struggling with injuries and lack of gametime, during his time at Paris. The 28-year-old has featured in just 14 matches for Les Parisiens this season, six of which came as substitute appearances.

As per Gianluca di Marzio, the Argentine International is desperate to leave PSG in the January transfer window, with a host of clubs interested in his signature.

Liverpool, on the other hand, have had to deal with the departure of star playmaker Philippe Coutinho to FC Barcelona this winter. And even though the Reds have brought in Virgil Van Dijk from Southampton for a record fee, they run a bit short when it comes to midfield reinforcements, with Coutinho gone.

Therefore, Liverpool are no doubt looking for a proper replacement for the Brazilian superstar in the market.

Highly regarded as one of the most talented players back in Argentina, Javier Pastore is blessed with sensational technical qualities. When in full flow, he often becomes an artist in midfield, thanks to his world-class passing. His remarkable vision allows him to create a lot of chances for his team in the final third while his dribbling quality is what makes him a top-class midfielder.

That being said, however, Javier Pastore, despite all his talents, has failed to live up to his expectations at Paris. He is quite injury prone, which is clearly evident looking at his injury history from Transfermarkt.com. Furthermore, Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp has admitted his reluctance to signing new players in the January transfer market and instead use the players at his disposal, especially Adam Lallana.

The former Southampton midfielder has just come back from his long injury-layoff earlier this year and is expected to make a solid impression for the remainder of the season. In addition, Javier Pastore also doesn’t have any previous experience in the English top flight, meaning it would be a big risk for Liverpool to sign the Argentine international, something that the club can’t afford to take, at this moment.

Ahaa, its good dialogue concerning this piece of writing here at this weblog, I have read all that, so at this time me also commenting
