Bayer Leverkusen have some exciting players but of them all, Julian Brandt is perhaps the most experienced and the one who has been the most consistent.
Since breaking into the first team a few years ago, the German has not only co tribute with goals but has also been a key player in their build-up play.
Brandt’s contract expires next summer and having spent a few years in Germany to grow as a player, his head might have turned had Liverpool made a good offer for him. Besides, it’s not as if Leverkusen would not have sold him considering how much is left on his contract.
#1 Mateo Kovacic
Kovacic still manages to divide opinion at Santiago Bernabeu despite his incredible ability. Often overlooked for the duo of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, Kovacic in the future of Croatian football.
Zidane still doesn’t trust him enough and considering there is going to be a massive overhaul in the summer at Real Madrid, his future could look bleak.
Liverpool needed someone creative and Kovacic easily fits the bill. The Croat can dribble his way out from the back and is good in closed space and pressure. His passing is pretty impressive as well, so he would have solved all of Liverpool’s problems.
