The story so far :
Chelsea will be looking to get back to their best in the fast-paced Premier League after their stalemate against London rivals Arsenal. They sit 3rd in the league table and will be looking to get all three points against Stoke City at the bet365 stadium. After their loss to Burnley, they won three on the bounce and then shared points last time around. In the league cup though, they sent Nottingham Forest packing with a hat-trick from Batshuayi and a lot of glitter from the other teammates.
Team news :
Eden Hazard is expected to start after an enjoyable outing against Forest. Luiz is suspended but Conte has options to replace him. Pedro limped off against Arsenal but has been declared fit by Conte.
Predicted starting lineup : (3-4-3)
GK – Thibaut Courtois
He will return in goal this weekend and will aim to smother anything that comes his way.
RCB – Cesar Azpilicueta
A sure shot starter. No words to describe the consistency of this bloke in every aspect of his game.
CB – Gary Cahill
Needs to calm his nerves when in possession but is mostly going to lead the team as he is one of the best in the league at the back, especially with the sharpness of tackling.
LCB – Antonio Rudiger
He was solid in midweek and is looking comfortable in his new surroundings. He will replace the suspended David Luiz.
RWB – Victor Moses
He will be there to accelerate up and down the right flank and is likely to start ahead of his new competitor.
CDM – Cesc Fabregas
He looked magical in midweek and if given any space whatsoever, he can punish the opposition. He rules the midfield and brings flow to the play.
CDM – N’Golo Kante
He will look to do what he does best, stick to his simple game plan and execute it in style.
LWB – Marcos Alonso
He will feature this weekend after some good time off the pitch. A complete player, he covers a whole lot of ground down the left and makes an impact.
RW – Pedro
He was rested and will look to continue his good form. He is quick, has an excellent first touch and is capable of shooting from distance.
LW – Eden Hazard
He looked 100% in midweek and was making defenders look like statues. A big threat to watch out for!
ST – Alvaro Morata
He is going to start in spite of Batshuayi’s hat-trick. He looks faster and quicker and has been consistent.
