Arsenal have finally managed to find some form in their game against Chelsea, holding the English champions to a draw in their own backyard. But Arsene Wenger cannot be too happy with the way things are going and it does not come as a huge surprise that he is already scouting for players who can help improve his team in the future.
A number of star players are constantly linked with a move to the club recently and one rumour that refuses to die is Jakub Jankto.
Jankto a wanted man
The 21-year old Czech Republic Footballer of the Year is currently the first choice midfielder for Serie A side Udinese and has been in excellent form early this season. He is tipped off to become a superstar in the future with the likes of Juventus, AC Milan, Everton and Arsenal all fighting for his signature.
Reports claim that Udinese are not willing to let the player leave in January but English outfit Arsenal are turning the screws and are sure to make a move for him in the winter transfer window, having failed to land him earlier this year.
So who is Jankto?
A product of the SK Slavia Prague, one of the most decorated academies in his country, the 21-year old has represented his national team at every domestic level, before making his debut for the senior side earlier this year. He moved to Udinese in 2015 but only became a first team regular from the previous season.
He has a goal and an assist in four Serie A outings this season and is only growing in stature. A central midfielder by trait, Jankto is a dead ball specialist who is adept at holdup play in the middle of the park. His passing and vision are exemplary but he has to work on his aerial abilities, to make him a success in England.
He is disciplined and ready to do the dirty work but is more productive in possession of the ball, trying to set up goals and is a player who can walk into most top squads in Europe.
An option for Arsenal?
The Gunners and Arsene Wenger are known for their hospitality to young talent over the years. A number of youngsters have over the years, managed to make a name for themselves at the Emirates and Jankto could add his name to the long list next year.
Arsenal have a shortage of midfielders with Francis Coquelin, Santi Cazorla and even Mohamed Elneny not meeting their criteria recently. They have Aaron Ramsey and Granit Xhaka as the only top-class options and are in dire need of a midfielder.
Even at just 21, Jankto has what it takes to run the midfield in a Premier League game and Wenger will surely make his move in January. He will take time to settle in but the Czech star can surely turn out to be a long-term solution to the midfield problems at the Emirates.
